Birdhouse Concept.

On a beautiful sunny street in North Cottesloe sits a half realized house. The Clients moved in 2009 and employed a builder to renovate and extend the house. While the front of the house was executed beautifully the extension suffers from design incoherency that has led to dead spaces, a cavernous interior with 4.2m high ceilings and no definition of spaces.

Rectifying these issues involved using geometry and lowering the ceiling into the human scale, allowing us to create an upstairs bedroom and retreat. Using green spaces internally to reciprocate the exterior and create a house that embraces its warm climate.
